Agricultural Development

Faith Farms - Haiti

Thanks to the generosity of Faith Farms in Suffolk, VA Supply and Multiply has land with mature fruit bearing plantain trees near the Matthew 25 House in the Mango District of Montrouis, Haiti as well as land in Deluge with a rotating crop. We're helping with irrigation in the Fishing Village and expanding our rabbit program.

We're harvesting fruits and beans to supplement the food needs of our elderly in our care program and several in the community. We also harvest eggs from chickens and use both chickens and rabbits as a source of meat for our elderly.

Haitian Agriculture:

  • "Roughly 2.5 million Haitians live in extreme poverty (below $1.25 per day), predominantly in rural areas. The economy is largely informal and heavily dependent on subsistence agriculture, which has languished in the face of growing rural population pressures, recurrent natural calamities, adverse climate change, and a lack of access to modern technology in the absence of a functional agricultural extension service." • Supply and Multiply is seeking to impact every area of life in Montrouis, Haiti with the power of the Gospel and the Compassion of Christ.
